MHB named number one TwiRock band by Suburban Vampire

Music plays on MySpace approaching one million

Las Vegas (20 April 2009) TwiRock fans hungry for music inspired by Stephenie Meyer’s books can now buy a limited edition of the mega-hit CD Endless Day by the Mitch Hansen Band online at www.twilightmusicanddownloads, along with a signed poster and booklet.

Since January, the Mitch Hansen Band, an Atlanta-based group, was voted the number one TwiRock band by readers of Suburban Vampire and requests for interviews have been streaming in from Bulgaria, Spain, the U.S. and MTV.

Propelled by fan favorites like Lullaby, Jacob Black, and She is Brighter, the Endless Day CD captures the passion and mood of Meyer’s Twilight series unlike any other musical release, according to Gaylen Rust, president of Harper Music Company, LLC. “Mitch Hansen’s music connects with Twilight fans in a magical way. His musical interpretation of the events and people in these fictional books reveals the depth of Mitch’s creative talent.”

As part of the online offer, the Endless Day CD and booklet sell for $16.95.  The Limited Edition Endless Day CD and signed poster are priced at $24.95 and the combination of two Limited Edition CDs with the poster and booklet cost $39.95. All sales carry a satisfaction  guaranteed seal.

The site will have special appeal for fan fiction followers of Meyer’s books. Readers are  greeted by “Ava,” a shape shifter who was in the same high school class as Bella, Edward and Alice. Ava reveals that she “actually knew their secrets” and then shares her own musical journey that includes the discovery of the Mitch Hansen Band.  Along the way, readers can stop and listen to the band’s songs and music videos that include personal insights from Hansen about what inspired his music and what he was thinking while writing the lyrics.

Hansen said Endless Day is the “culmination of a lifetime dream to share my music with people everywhere.  My hope is that the music will speak to Twilight fans as well as those who may never read her books.”

The Mitch Hansen Band is based in Atlanta, Georgia and is led by lead singer, songwriter and rhythm guitar player Mitch Hansen. Hansen has been writing songs and playing guitar since the age of 12.  Now married and the father of young boy, his passion for music is still intense - even occasionally keeping him up at nights.

In the summer of 2007, Hansen became acquainted with Stephenie Meyer’s books and read all of them in a week.  Inspired by the characters and plot, he wrote “Twilight Hour,” which attracted thousands of fans after it was posted it on MySpace Music.  Ennobled by the response, Hansen independently wrote and released the CD Twilight Hour on iTunes - which became an instant hit.

The band was discovered by a music producer in 2008 and now works under the Harper Music Company LLC label.  Harper Music Company LLC released Hansen’s second CD, Endless Day in December, 2008 - which contains nine songs re-recorded from Twilight Hour plus one new, previously unreleased song Already Dead.

The Mitch Hansen Band also includes lead guitarist Brent Cook. Hansen and Cook have been influenced by a number of musical styles including classic blues, classic rockers, alternative bands of the 90’s and modern rock. Some of the band’s favorite groups are Features, Alice in Chains, Collective Soul, the Offspring and Helmet. Cook plays on an old Olympic white Fender Stratocaster guitar made in Mexico and Hansen plays on a black 1981 Gibson Les Paul Standard.

We’re So Crafty……Song-wise, That is!

But then again, when are we not?  :) I’m just really excited about the most recent song I’ve started putting together.  It sounds really cool!  Well, at least it does in my head, because I haven’t laid down any tracks for it yet.  It’s going to be called “Whisper.”  I’ll let you try to guess what its about, but I’m not going to tell if you’re right.  Yeah, I’m evil like that, but I’m hoping the song’s eventual coolness will more than make up for my evil ways.

I also wanted to give you a little insight into how the songwriting / song selecting process works.  As of right now we have 19 either fully or partially written songs, and we won’t be releasing a new album probably until next year sometime.  By the time we hit the studio we should have a major gamut of songs to choose from for the next record.  Man, that is so long from now and I’m already excited just thinking about it!  A couple of them might be familiar to old time MHB fans, but most of them will be fresh and new to everyone.

I’m also hoping to take some pictures and introduce you to our inanimate band mates (our guitars and gear) some time.   We’re such dorks that we name our guitars and amps, so I figured a proper introduction may be in order.

Anyway, just wanted to give everyone a quick update on what we’ve been up to latley.  Have a great week!

Mitch
