World Premiere of ‘By You’ Video

Exciting news!  MTV has just posted our music video for ‘By You’!  Check it out-

In addition to posting the video MTV also has an article about the possibility of ‘By You’ being on the New Moon Soundtrack.

He’s arguably the most talented and popular of a collection of musicians who compose songs about Stephenie Meyer’s vivid “Twilight” universe. Yet, if you’ve only seen the “Twilight” movie, you may not be aware of Mitch Hansen. He’s hoping all that will soon change.

“It’s called ‘By You,’ ” the affable frontman of the Mitch Hansen Band told MTV News of his latest song and video, which he’s premiering with us and hoping to get onto the upcoming “New Moon” soundtrack. “It’s essentially from Bella’s perspective, and it’s kind of a very edgy rock-type song. It’s about ‘New Moon’ through her eyes, all that pain she felt. Then at the end it resolves — in a more happy place, I should say. It’s a very emotional song.”

Read the entire article here.  While you’re there make sure you leave a comment with your thoughts about the video and about the Mitch Hansen Band being on the New Moon Soundtrack.  (Hopefully Summit will drop by and get the message.)

Special thanks to Larry Carroll for all his support!

Examiner.com: Spotlight on The Mitch Hansen Band

Amanda Bell, The Twilight Examiner, was at TwiCon 2009 in Dallas last week and she’s written up a nice article about our concert.

Here’s a little blurb-

Having just spoken with MHB a couple of weeks ago, it was easy to realize how sincere their ambitions for inclusion in the New Moon soundtrack project were. Meeting them at TwiCon, though, only escalated that understanding. The three have an ardent appreciation for the novel series and the film franchise, and their joy at being a part of the world of Twilight is marked completely evident by a single look at them on the stage.

Check out the entire article and pictures of the concert here.

We’re So Crafty……Song-wise, That is!

But then again, when are we not?  :) I’m just really excited about the most recent song I’ve started putting together.  It sounds really cool!  Well, at least it does in my head, because I haven’t laid down any tracks for it yet.  It’s going to be called “Whisper.”  I’ll let you try to guess what its about, but I’m not going to tell if you’re right.  Yeah, I’m evil like that, but I’m hoping the song’s eventual coolness will more than make up for my evil ways.

I also wanted to give you a little insight into how the songwriting / song selecting process works.  As of right now we have 19 either fully or partially written songs, and we won’t be releasing a new album probably until next year sometime.  By the time we hit the studio we should have a major gamut of songs to choose from for the next record.  Man, that is so long from now and I’m already excited just thinking about it!  A couple of them might be familiar to old time MHB fans, but most of them will be fresh and new to everyone.

I’m also hoping to take some pictures and introduce you to our inanimate band mates (our guitars and gear) some time.   We’re such dorks that we name our guitars and amps, so I figured a proper introduction may be in order.

Anyway, just wanted to give everyone a quick update on what we’ve been up to latley.  Have a great week!

Mitch
